| Palaeography: | CISP: The lettering is Insular half-uncial. The minuscule Hs and curved L appear to have wdge-shaped finials. The D has an ascender which bends to the left over an open heart-shaped bow. The Ts have curved ascenders and flat top-strokes. The E is in the open uncial form with an extended horizontal stroke. The S is majuscule. The three A's are all in slightly different forms. The first has a rounded bow and flourish from the bottom right of this bow. The second has a straight bottom stroke and a vertical stroke, with a curved stroke joining them. This is the inverse of a form found elsewhere at Clonmacnoise, where the top stroke is straight. This A also has a flourish from the bottom right of the bow. The third A has a vertical stroke and a single curved stroke joining the top and bottom of this ascender. Again there is a flourish from the bottom right of the bow. The Rs are half-uncial. |
