| Palaeography: | CISP: The lettering is Insular half-uncial. The final A is in the 'OC' form and the first L appears to have a wedge-shaped finial. The first A is minuscule. The first two Ds have very short strokes to the left from the top left of their rounded and closed bows. The final D has an ascender which bends to the left over an open heart-shaped bow. The Ls are curved, with the second example conjoined with the preceding A. The R is half-uncial and the second stroke of it curves down so low it looks very much like an n. |
| Legibility: | good Fanning/OhEailidhe/1980, 5, `The letters are clearly cut and complete, with the exception of the last letter of the first line which could be C or D though it is most likely the former'. |
